The Perch
Manhattan, NYC
The Perch is a large scale commercial installation created for Company, featuring a curated collection of found and handmade objects. The collection was styled intentionally to invoke curiosity in a space for the tenants of Company’s innovation house in New York City.
The space consisted of approximately 200 linear feet of custom walnut shelving designed by ShOp Architects. The shelves needed to be filled with an eclectic blend of objects and styled to perfection. Each cube, designed and documented before installation date.
The process began with planning and collection. Many buying trips took place to hunt down hundreds of unique vintage objects. Objects were curated into over 70 individual vignettes with the overall vision in mind. Vignettes were carefully documented and shipped to location off Madison Ave. Installation spanned over a four day period with the help of a scissor-lift and a builder named Vito. Each cube recreated on a grid until entirely filled.
